Our story

A platform for the people already making things here.

El Cerrito Supply Co. is a community space built to make local life more connected, creative and fun. We bring independent businesses, local makers and neighbors under one roof, creating a place to shop, gather and discover what’s being made right here.

We want to connect creative people with real opportunities and give talented, historically underserved artists the visibility, space and support they deserve.

What we believe

Keep the money within walking distance.

We also believe we can build the kind of community we want by spending our money as close to home as possible. That HomeGoods décor may be perfectly fine and undeniably cheap, but when you buy something made by a person down the street, you are investing in their work, their family and the place you both call home.

Every purchase is a chance to keep creativity visible, opportunity local and more of our community’s money right here in our community.

Anchor tenant

Hennai packs one corner of the shop with candles and soaps, plants and garden tools, cookbooks, cards and craft kits, linens, and pieces for the table. Easy to browse in five minutes, hard to leave in five.

It all comes from small makers and independent brands, people building something of their own, just like Hennai. And it's priced to take home, not just admire, because well-made things shouldn't be a luxury.

Popup vendors

Coffee + food, cycling in and out

Coffee purveyors and food vendors pop up through the week and cycle in and out, so there is usually something new to try.

Walk up, no sign-up needed. Just see who’s out front today.

Tool library

Keep the skill, skip the clutter

Learn the skill without storing the tool. Borrow what the job needs, do it yourself, and keep your closet and your cash. The broken thing gets fixed instead of tossed.

No hourly meter, so work at your own pace and bring it back when you're done. No question is too basic to ask, and the neighbor next to you probably has a tip.

Got tools? Hand tools and crafting tools are welcome. Drop them off at the shop on Wednesdays, 9 to 12.
